I read a Christmas card that said, "Only a few heard the music when He arrived, but the celebration will be deafening when he returns."
This time of the year provides exciting opportunities for our chaplains to share the message of hope found in Luke, "Unto you is born this day a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." What a joy to see people come to Christ, ready to celebrate His soon return. Jesus told His disciples, "open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest." Pray our chaplains will take every opportunity to clearly present the gospel and that God will give them a bountiful harvest.

WALT AND SHIRLEY DRYER – Nursing Home Ministry – New Bedford, MA. Walt is acting Executive Director of the
Community Chaplain Service. Many bedside calls are made each week by
the thirty-seven chaplains. They minister from Maine to Florida, from
New England to Wisconsin. They visit, presenting the claims of Christ
to those for whom no one else seems to care. They have wonderful
opportunities to share their hope in Christ. Residents do respond – not
by the thousands and hundreds, but one-by-one. The weekly visits to all
available residents in the nursing homes pay off in consistent reports
of conversions. In their extremity, sadness and disappointment they
welcome the chaplains caring, and are open to the message of salvation
and comfort. Pray for Walt as he leads this group. The ministry is
looking for a new Director. Pray that God’s man will soon be found.
