God is so good, God is so good, God is so good, He's so good to me." Great words from a contemporary chorus. This has been a great year for CBAmerica Chaplaincy. God keeps sending us excellent chaplain candidates. Financially this has been one of our best years as new supporters have joined our team. People are praying for this ministry and we are seeing God bless in wonderful ways. Thank you to all who had a part in our ministry this year. We appreciate you!
Allen Russell, Director of Chaplaincy
Carol and I traveled to Ft. Lewis, WA in September to visit our chaplain families. We spent time with each family and caught up on their ministries. The Larson, Slade and Mitera families are on active duty at Ft. Lewis. Ken Hegtvedt serves in the Reserves, Michael Anderson just ended a position as Chaplain of the Fisher House, and Don Peterson recently retired in the Tacoma area. Pray for the CB ministry in and around Ft. Lewis.
Stan and Carla Newton, pastor of the Coastal Community Church in Westport, WA. Stan is a graduate of the Naval Academy and serves as an officer in the Navy Reserves. He is a Dallas Seminary graduate and was appointed to serve as a Navy Reserve Chaplain. Five local pastors assist Dan and Linda Larson, Carol and I in interviewing the Newtons. Pray for the Newtons. They are awaiting selection by the Navy.
Dave and Jean Bobbey retired from active duty Chaplaincy in the early 1990's after some 20 years. He volunteers his time and travels to assist us. He has been approved by the CBAmerica Board to work as Assistant to the Director in visiting our chaplains. Dave and Jean travel extensively to military installations and minister to our chaplains. We welcome them to the team and ask you to pray for them.
Brad and Susan West leave in January for their next assignment - Hawaii. Brad recently returned from a tour in Bosnia and had a great ministry with soldiers there. Pray for them as they begin a new ministry. Pray for their children Alex and Natalie as they adjust to new schools and friends.
