I recently visited two of our chaplains in Korea and rejoice at the open door of ministry they have with their soliders. Both Ken Werho and Mark Mitera have seen the Lord change lives as they share the 'good news of the gospel' with others. Mark returns home to Washington State in January after a year without his family and will begin a new assignment at Ft. Lewis, WA in February. Ken and his family have serveral more years to serve in Korea. They have a wonderful ministry among university students. Pray for them.

Dwight and Karen Croy have begun a year of separation with Dwight gonig to Korea just before Christmas to serve soliders of the 2nd Infantry Division. Karen and the children will be home in Medford, OR for this year. Pray for Dwight and his ministry. Soldiers in Korea are very responsive to the Gospel.
Lee and Neva Johnson have had an interesting year. Lee was given the opportunity to participate in Operation Joint Endeavor and has spent some nine months in Germany. Lee has spent some 27 years in the Reserves and plans to retire in June 1998. He went on active duty March 3 and was assigned to a Support Battalion in Kitzingen. This unit supported five military communities and Lee worked at chapels in two different locations. He did a lot of counselling, led several to Christ and had many preaching opportunities. This has been a great way to finish out his carrer. Pray for Lee as he returns to the Northwest to his civilian job and pray that the Lord will show him a place to minister to others.
Evan Spencer left active duty with the Air Force September of 1996, and moved to Texas to work and serve the LOrd. Just recently he joined the Texas Air National Guard as a chaplain. Colleen has travelled with 'Club Beyond' to Romania to do missionary work. Pray for the Slades as they serve the Lord as a family.
Jack and Jina Kasel serve a Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. Jack has been on assignment in Hungary and has had excellent opportunities to minister to airmen deployed there. They have also had good opportunities for humanitarian ministry to children and young people. Pray for Jack, Jina and their family as they minister in the Air Force.

Attention Pastors!
I want to make you aware of an opportunity to minister in the secular workplace as a chaplain. Marketplace Ministries, a faith-based Employee Assistance Program, has asked me to help them find chaplains to work with employers and their employees who need assistance with funerals, hospital visits, terminal illness counseling, accidents, death, significant personal or family issues. They are looking for On-Call Chaplains and will pay for pastoral care services provided. This is an excellent opportunity to minister in your community. They are looking for both full and part-time chaplains.
